andiwould: (→ merthur; blue; looking down)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] andiwould
Title: Ours will never be a goodbye.
Rating: NC-17.
Pairing/s: Merlin/Arthur, very brief Merlin/Gwaine and Arthur/Other.
Word Count: 28K, I don’t even know.
Warnings: Rimming.

Summary: In which there’s something like love at first sight —even though Arthur denies it completely— lots of coffee and snow, and four years of happiness until everything twists upside down at the end of uni. Years later and in the simplest way, Merlin and Arthur find each other again, and those feelings they thought were over and forgotten, resurface again.

Written for the prompt (#47) for [livejournal.com profile] uni_merlin: Merlin was the shy, young, clumsy scholarship boy on Arthur's hallway freshman year, already nose-deep in his pre-med books. Arthur was the arrogant, well-off finance major. Through four years and countless mishaps and adventures, they dated all the while and broke up amicably before each went his separate ways. Five years later, Merlin is finally at his residency at a hospital in London. He hasn't seen Arthur in those five years - businessmen of his stature must be too busy to go to the pub with their old uni mates every few months - until the one day he does

Author's Notes: First time posting ever, which means I’m a bundle of excitement and nerves. Anyways, I owe a great deal of thanks to the four awesome girls who helped me out to make this; I honestly couldn’t have done this without you. A massive THANK YOU to [livejournal.com profile] maggie_f for beta-ing, but especially to [livejournal.com profile] blue_eyed_1987 and [livejournal.com profile] endlesscharade for the beta work, and the constant support. For putting up with my endless rambling and listening to me patiently, for all the cheering and encouragement when I was uninspired, and most importantly for your kind words and the brilliant suggestions that have helped me create a much prettier story. Big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] drarryxlover as well, for being a wonderful cheerleader ^^ I’ve had an amazing time writing the story, so thanks to [livejournal.com profile] emjayelle for making the fest possible, too.
